Intervention: Addressing obesity

Studies  concluded that the removal of unhealthy sugary foods from supermarket checkout counters could make a drastic change for the high percentage of children suffering from obesity. Childhood obesity is a huge concern in many countries including Malta, in fact, recent studies show that almost  40% of school-aged children are obese . Supermarkets are being “obliged” to change the positioning of unhealthy products, even though research shows that the location of these products boosts sales for organisations. Companies are going against their strategic objectives; to increase profit, in order to safeguard future generations from consuming unhealthy products.
